A registered nurse is always on call, 24 hours, to answer questions and to provide assistance and support when needed. We will provide care to every eligible patient in our service area, regardless of medical conditions, lifestyle, religious, cultural or ethnic background. We believe all patients who are eligible for hospice should receive hospice. After all this is the time When Life Matters Most....

| Duties: | 1. Plan and supervise delivery of all volunteer services.
• Presents hospice information to church and civic groups and community.
2. Assign volunteers to service on the basis of program needs and the volunteers’ interest and skills.
• Recruits, screens, trains, plans and directs volunteers to ensure adequate number of volunteers are maintained to meet requirements.
• Assigns volunteers to patients and families and provides support to volunteers as needed.
• Makes hospital, nursing home and home visits to hospice patients and families to assess need, monitor assigned volunteers and to provide support and follow-up.
• Coordinates volunteer educational activities including in-services, seminars and other special events recognizing hospice volunteers.
• Monitor and evaluate volunteers’ performance.
• Plan and conduct volunteer support meetings.
3. Assess and monitor a record-keeping system which includes services delivered and actual time
involved.
• Maintains records, statistics and reports.
• Prepare service reports as required by the administration.
4. Formulates, develops, reviews and revises policies and procedures regarding hospice volunteers to meet Hospice, Medicare, Medicaid and Joint Commission standards.
• Design and supervise the orientation and training of volunteers.
5. Develops and implements volunteer fund raising events.
6. Facilitate community awareness and support of Hospice volunteer program.
• Writes, produces, and distributes hospice newsletter for volunteers, patients, and staff.
• Plans and participates in memorial services, bereavement support and other special events.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
